New York artist uses creative snow carvings to raise money for charities

âTypically I hate the winter, but this has made it fun,â professional caricature artist and carver Eric Jones said.
âI didnât expect that,âhe said.
Jones said his sculpture brought in hundreds of people to Cuba, and while they were there for Josh Allen, they were staying for the local restaurants and shops.
âWell the last couple carvings have actually been great for the local commerce, he said. The local businesses have done well with the traffic, so thatâs been a bonus that I didnât even anticipate.â

Louth man who survived three heart attacks taking part in charity run

A 30-year-old Louth man who suffered three heart attacks and feared he would not survive to become a father, is now about to take up a 5km challenge to thank the charity which helped him rebuild his life.
Gaelic footballer and jiu-jitsu fighter Ciaran Byrne was stunned when he had to have two stents inserted into his heart and was told he needed urgent cardiac care.
“The only thing I kept thinking about was that I am 30 years old and I never got to meet my kids,” said the Monasterboice man.
